EU contributes to providing safe drinking water to Libyan local community

The residents of Wadi Al Bawanis in Libya can now access safe drinking water. With the support of the European Union and the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (Germany), a desalination plant was set up by the National Society for Sustainable Development in the framework of the programme “Support to Municipalities in Libya”.

This new plant can provide up to 8000 litres per day of safe drinking water for the community. The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs contributes to the costs of activities implemented by ACTED as part of this programme.
