Following the double explosion at Beirut port which severely affected the Lebanese capital, the project PPRD South 3 (Prevention, Preparedness and Response to Natural and Man-Made disasters in Middle East and North Africa Partnership Countries) is mobilised for Lebanon, partner country of the project.

Relying on its network of the seven other partner countries in the region, PPRD South 3 facilitates exchanges among the States able support Lebanon. During the last meeting held on August 6, the actions envisaged by each of the partner countries were listed and the team forwarded them to the European Commission.

Launched at the end of 2018, the PPRD South 3 programme supports the cooperation of national civil protection services. Its objective is to better prepare for natural and man-made disasters in the countries around the southern Mediterranean.
