Students at Al-Bayt University in Mafraq recently received training sessions on radio news and program production, which are now completed. Those sessions are part of the European Union in Jordan funded initiative “Support to Media in Jordan”.
Under this initiative, several radio experts and consultants have been working with the university’s faculty, staff and students. They focused on the basics of setting up a radio station as well as technical skills such as radio production and editing. In addition, they also discussed institutional issues such as how to form an advisory board, ensure editorial independence, and manage the station.
The trainings, in partnership with UNESCO Amman Office, are part of a larger capacity development support program provided to Al al Bayt and a few other universities over the course of the last two years.
