EU reaffirms support for transition in Libya

EU High Representative Federica Mogherini reaffirmed, on Monday 4 April 2006, the EU’s full commitment to assisting with Libya’s political transition on the basis of defined priorities and congratulated Libyan Prime Minister Fayez Sarraj on his and the Presidential Council’s move to Tripoli. 
 
According to an EU press release, Mogherini spoke with the Libyan Prime Minister and the UN special representative for Libya, Martin Kobler, on Monday. During their talks, they discussed the recent encouraging developments in the country and the support that the EU can provide for the next steps in the implementation of the Libyan Political Agreement.
