Funded by the European Union, SwitchMed incubated Tasneem Abuhijleh, a Palestinian green entrepreneur, who was featured today, June 27, at the “Promotion of Green Entrepreneurship and Grassroots Ecological and Social Innovation in Palestine” synergy workshop.

Tasneem Abuhijleh set up Tafkeek, an e-waste dismantling facility that aims at connecting e-waste generators in Palestine and e-waste recycling companies abroad, mainly in Europe and Asia. She is one of the 24 selected entrepreneurs to follow the incubation phase of the SwitchMed Green Entrepreneurship Programme. She is now receiving additional 40 hours of face-to-face support from a local mentor, Baher Dikeidek, a private sector development specialist at Birzeit University in order to develop her green business plan. Her project will certainly create green jobs and clean up the environment in the process.

The SwitchMed sustainable consumption and production programme aims to promote a switch by the Mediterranean economies towards sustainable consumption and production patterns and green economy, including low-emission development, through demonstration and dissemination of methods that improve resource and energy efficiency.
