Jordan: EU project to hold Master classes in media management

The EU-funded OPEN Media Hub project is organising parallel Master Classes for broadcast, print and online media from Jordan on 17-19 July.
The Master Classes are specially designed for managers and senior editors of television, print and online media outlets and are intended to help them develop advanced management skills and to include their media organisations in the package of activities and services provided by the Media Hub over the next years.
The Print and Online Media Management Master Class will cover business planning, strategic marketing, developing practical tools, managing multi-platform content, newsroom workflow management, including integrated newsrooms, handling social media and user-generated content, HR development with special focus on development in the age of social and mobile media.
The Broadcast Management Master Class will cover news management techniques; developing practical tools, how EU sources can be accessed efficiently for the newsroom cycle, managing multi-platform content, newsroom workflow management, including integrated newsrooms, handling social media and user-generated content.
The OPEN Media Hub project, funded under the OPEN Neighbourhood Programme, aims at creating a virtual media hub spanning the two regions, in order to contribute to the development of independent media and to a more accurate presentation of EU policies in the Neighbourhood regions, through the creation of a network of journalists. The OPEN Media Hub will provide skills to journalists and media managers through the fostering of professional networks, the provision of hands-on workshops, of journalist exchanges and support to audio-visual and online production.
