The First Mediterranean Feminist Forum took place on 3rd of May 2024 at Arab World Institute in Paris. Organised by EuroMed Feminist Initiative, in partnership with the interministerial Delegation for the Mediterranean from the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, and with the contribution of the Arab World Institute, the Forum brought together over 50 feminist organizations from about 20 countries from the Mediterranean basin, different stakeholders, private sector and donors, as well as external auditors.

The Forum provided space for exchange of analyses, experiences, lesson learned and good practices from both sides of the Mediterranean in the field of:

–      Combating violence against women and girls (VAWG)

–      Women’s participation in economic, social and political life.

–      Sexual and reproductive health and rights.

–      The working environment of feminist civil society organizations and action against anti-rights movements.

Participants had a lively and deep open discussion on these issues and unanimously agreed that positive change and sustainable peace in the region can only be sustainable with the full participation of women and feminist organisations, who have the knowledge and expertise on the ground.
