In his first official visit to Morocco, Ricardo Mourinho Félix, Vice-President of the European Investment Bank, responsible for funding in Morocco, will meet the Moroccan authorities and will also visit the Euromed University of Fez (UEMF) for a conference on the theme of “The EIB and climate action: a global, regional and national perspective”.

In light of the upcoming 27th Conference of the Parties (COP27) to be held in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, from 6 to 18 November, Mr Mourinho Félix will speak with students and academics at the UEMF on the challenges and opportunities of the climate transition, as well as the role of the EIB as a climate bank, striving to promote sustainable models in Morocco and around the world.

Embracing a Team Europe approach, this visit to the UEMF eco-campus highlights the importance of the Morocco-EU partnership in improving skills, inclusion and job prospects for young people. Since 2016, the European Union and the EIB have worked alongside the Moroccan government to provide support in various areas of development, including at the UEMF through outstanding teaching and research programmes.
