The Centre for Innovative Local Governance (CILG) announced, on Tuesday 19 April 2016 in Tunis, the official launch of its Libya Local Governance and Stabilisation Programme, which is being implemented by the regional office of the International Agency of the Association of Netherlands Municipalities (CILG – VNG International) with support from the European Union.

The announcement was made during the kick-off event, attended by EU representatives along with several Libyan mayors and representatives from civil society organisations. The three-year programme, funded by the EU with co-financing from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, aims to contribute to strengthening and empowering local governance in Libya, according to a post on the Facebook page of the Delegation of the European Union to Libya.  (EU Neighbourhood Info)
