The EU grants 2 million Euro in assistance to the Palestinian Authority for the construction of social infrastructures in Area C of the West Bank.

According to a statement issued by the EU Representation in Jerusalem, this amount is attributed to the Municipal Development and Lending Fund (MDLF) and to nine local communities for projects amounting in total to 9.5 million Euros, and is part of an assistance programme supported by the EU and three of its Member States (France, Denmark and the United Kingdom).

Area C represents a territorial region (62% of the West Bank) under the Israeli administration and its security control.
