Johannes Hahn, European Commissioner for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, reaffirmed Europe’s support for Tunisian political and economic transition during meetings with Tunisian Prime Minister Habib Essid, Minister for Development, Investment and International Cooperation Yassine Brahim, and Foreign Minister Khemais Jhinaoui, as part of a visit to Tunisia on 7 and 8 April 2016. Hahn repeated the EU’s commitment to strengthen this support and explained the nature of this commitment during a discussion on Thursday with civil society, which is deeply involved in the implementation of this support, in a country that the Commissioner referred to as a “privileged partner”.
