TunisiaTunisia : High Representative/Vice-President Borrell had phone call with Prime Minister Fakhfakh
High Representative /Vice-President Josep Borrell had a phone call with Tunisian Prime Minister Elyes Fakhfakh last Tuesday.
The High Representative congratulated the Prime Minister for his appointment and reaffirmed EU solidarity towards Tunisia and the Tunisian people in these difficult times, as reflected in the financial support of €250 million provided to the Tunisian budget of 2020. This decision, taken in agreement with Tunisia, aims at supporting the Tunisian efforts to face coronavirus pandemic.
High Representative Borrell and Prime Minister Fakhfakh have both underlined the importance of international cooperation to address the challenges posed by the coronavirus.
They also mentioned in their discussions the need to continue developing the strategic partnership between the European Union and Tunisia.
