The UfM Secretariat has issued a call for contributions to identify and select authors interested in collaborating in the publication of the report “Higher Education in the World” (HEIW) n. 7 “Humanities and Higher Education; Generating Synergies between Science, Technology and Humanities” In particular, the UfM will coordinate a specific chapter of the report containing the contributions of several authors from UfM Member States

The deadline to submit abstracts is 30 September 2018.

In the wake of the collaboration initiated on occasion of the GUNi International Conference on Sustainable Development Goals: Actors and Implementation, held in September 2017,  the Global University Network for Innovation (GUNi Network) and the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) established, on 23 May 2018, a cooperation framework for the upcoming three years through the signature of a Memorandum of Understanding covering all UfM areas of activity and aimed at continuing to work together in accordance to the mission and objectives of both institutions.  One of the first activities whereby the GUNi Network and the UfM Secretariat will be collaborating is the publication of this report.

HEIW is a collective work published as part of the GUNi Series on the Social Commitment of Universities. It is the result of a global and regional analysis of higher education in the world. With a specific subject chosen for each edition, the Report reflects on the  key issues and challenges facing higher education and its institutions in the 21st century . GUNi is currently working on the edition of the Higher Education in the World Report 7 to be published in 2019. The HEIW7 will be devoted to the future of the humanities and the relation between science and humanities in the 21st Century.
