In response to the coronavirus pandemic, the EU made an additional donation of 5.4 million dirhams to Fes Euromed University (UEMF) to purchase IT and laboratory equipment. This support enabled the university to guarantee educational continuity to its students and to produce protective equipment.

Already partners in Euromed University development project, the European Union and the European Investment Bank brought together their support to two UEMF’s innovative and inclusive initiatives to fight against the pandemic.

This donation gave the opportunity to 422 students to have his/her own laptop with a one-year internet subscription in order to follow the distance learning courses delivered by the university.

With this support, the university purchased 3D printers and could produce each week 500 to 1000 reusable protective masks and disposable filters, tested successfully according to the international sanitary protocols. The masks and filters were intended to Fes’ university health centre (“Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Fès”).
