Brief Description

A short-term and demand-driven institution-building instrument supporting the partner countries in understanding EU legislation and approximating to it.

Countries covered: Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Egypt, Georgia, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Moldova, Morocco, Palestine, Syria, Tunisia and Ukraine

Objectives

TAIEX aims at supporting the approximation of national laws, regulations and quality standards to those of EU Member States in the framework of Cooperation or Association agreements signed with the EU.

Actions in brief

TAIEX is an instrument of the European Commission. It is a demand-driven tool that is triggered by a direct request sent by partner country administrations.

Tailor-made expertise is provided by experts from EU Member States through the format of short-term (max. five days) expert missions, workshops or seminars and study visits. TAIEX provides assistance with regards to all applicable EU legislation.

The target groups are civil servants working in public administrations at national level; the judiciary and law enforcement authorities; and civil servants working in parliaments and legislative councils. Representatives of social partners, trade unions and employers’ associations can also take part in TAIEX seminars when the action is led by a public body.

TAIEX does not provide direct support to civil society, private citizens or to individual companies.

If you are working in the public administration of a partner country, you can request TAIEX assistance via the TAIEX online application

To find all activities organised by TAIEX, as well as the agenda and presentations, consult the TAIEX Library

If you are a civil servant working in a public administration of an EU Member State, register in the TAIEX Expert Database.
