EUBAM Rafah recently concluded a training series on information management for a group of General Administration of Border and Crossings (GABC) female officers.
The training was a part of the Mission’s Quick Impact Project (QIP) aimed at preparing GABC female staff members via specialised trainings for senior level management positions. The QIP is a part of a long-term EUBAM Rafah’s efforts dedicated to promotion of gender equality and mainstreaming.
The series of trainings held at the GABC training centre in Jericho focused on topics such as effective internal-external communication, conveying messages to the public, meeting facilitation, self-confidence, social media content creation and news writing, social media management, as well as digital privacy and security. The course was delivered by the local non-governmental organisation ‘Women Media and Development (TAM)’.
EUBAM Rafah was launched on 24 November 2005 to provide a third party presence at the Rafah Crossing Point. The Mission is responsible for contributing to building up the Palestinian capacity, improving cross-border cooperation between the different border agencies, monitoring the operations at the Rafah Crossing Point between the Gaza Strip and Egypt and liaising between the Palestinian, Israeli, and Egyptian Authorities in all aspects regarding the management of the crossing.
