Morocco: EU Ambassador visits EU-funded training institute

The Minister of National Education, Vocational Training, Higher Education and Scientific Research Mr Saaïd Amzazi, the Ambassador of the European Union to Morocco Mrs Claudia Wiedey and the Ambassador of France to Morocco Mrs Hélène Le Gal paid a visit yesterday to the Training Institute in Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Professions (IFMEREE) of Tangier. This visit provided an overview of the functioning of this institute as well as its management mode.

The creation of the network of the three IFMEREEs (located in Oujda, Ouarzazate and Tangier) was financed by the Moroccan State with an EU grant of € 10 million, a €10 million loan from the French Development Agency (AFD) and technical support from other European partners.

The IFMEREE of Tangier offers initial and lifelong training as well as training for young people and employees in companies with the aim of strengthening their capacities and promoting their access to the labour market in the renewable energy and energy efficiency.
