The Union for the Mediterranean, in collaboration with ANIMA Investment Network will organize a Conference on “Aligning investments with sustainability and corporate responsibility – The digitalization of impact measurement’’, in Barcelona (Palau Reial de Pedralbes) with the support of the German Development Cooperation and EBSOMED.
Investments, particularly Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), are intended to contribute to the socioeconomic development of host countries by creating decent jobs, generating income, favoring technology transfer and skills development, and boosting productive sectors and services, among other advantages. However, not all FDI necessarily positively affect environmental and social aspects when it comes to their own business model and impact.
This joint Conference will be the occasion to showcase several initiatives aiming at driving private investments towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals as well as to have an exchange on how to use concrete tools to assess their performance in terms of economic, environmental, and social effects.
