Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange is organising intercultural online debates to bring together young people from diverse backgrounds and students from higher education to meet online and discuss topics of their choice, with the support of a regional resource network of trained team leaders. The upcoming debates are scheduled on 9 June in French and on 15 June in Arabic.

Participants are first taught to listen, understand, and absorb what others in the group are saying before responding to the messages being relayed. The objective of this activity is to enhance young people’s debate skills, such as: building arguments, active listening and rebuttal, organisation of speeches and the use of a specific format for debating.

Participants can take part in one of the Debate Team Leader Trainings that will take place on 1 June in French and on 8 June in Arabic. These trainings are intended to prepare Team Leaders to deliver a local training for their teams in their communities before registering and leading them in an Intercultural Online Debate.

Erasmus+ Virtual Exchange is part of the Erasmus+ programme. It offers a safe online community to participate in facilitated discussions, increasing intercultural awareness and building 21st Century skills through Virtual Exchange. The programme encourages and promotes intercultural dialogue, employability, and citizenship, strengthening the youth dimension of the EU neighbourhood policy.
