A delegation of four prosecutors from the Specialized Economic and Cyber-Crime Units of the Palestinian Attorney General’s Office has completed a study trip to Copenhagen, Denmark. The three-day study trip, organized by the European Union Co-ordinating Office for Palestinian Police Support (EUPOL COPPS) on 4-6 March, aimed at being introduced to the Danish criminal investigation procedure relating to digital evidence and cyber-crimes.
The study trip included visits to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and the Serious Economic Crime Unit at the Copenhagen Police Department in order to exchange views on the investigation and prosecution of major economic crimes, including in particular the seizure and presentation of large amounts of electronic evidence. The delegation spent a full day at National Cyber Crime Centre (NC3) of the Danish National Police and held a session with a specialized prosecutor on the investigation and prosecution of cyber-crime cases. Additionally, the delegation visited two different court sessions at Copenhagen City Court.
The aim of EUPOL COPPS is to contribute to the establishment of sustainable and effective policing arrangements and to advise Palestinian counterparts on criminal justice and rule of law related aspects under Palestinian ownership.
