The 8th edition of the Mediterranean Beekeeping Forum will take place in Chefchaouen, Morocco, on 22-23 November 2016 in the framework of the Mediterranean CooBEEration project, co-funded by the European commission.

The Forum will be an opportunity to present the CooBEEration campaign and to define new strategies to disseminate a vision of beekeeping as a global common good, essential for biodiversity preservation and food safety improvement.

The CooBEEration campaign seeks to promote a new way of thinking and acting which acknowledges the value of bees and bee keeping as a common heritage, through the setting up of an alliance gathering and involving all the stakeholders – bee keepers; social and industrial entities; governments and local, national and international institutions; research bodies; associations and citizens.

The Mediterranean CooBEEration project, initiated in 2014, is co-funded by the European Union. It aims to support beekeeping and its strategic role in protecting biodiversity, enhancing food safety and supporting the socio-economic development of the Mediterranean region.  (EU Neighbourhood Info)
