Johannes Hahn, Commissioner responsible for European Neighbourhood Policy, is on a two-day visit to Tunisia on Thursday 7 and Friday 8 April 2016, where he will meet with Tunisian officials and civil society representatives to discuss the “future EU-Tunisia partnership priorities based on the ENP review, reinforced cooperation against terrorism and implementation of socio-economic reforms”.
The visit also aims at preparing for the Association Council which will take place on 18 April in Brussels, according to a press release.
The Commissioner declared on the eve of his visit: “Tunisia is a privileged partner in our neighbourhood: Tunisians are achieving a remarkable democratic transition but they are also facing unprecedented socio-economic and security challenges”.
