Are you a journalist from the Middle East and North Africa, aged between 21 and 45 years? This is your chance to be part of an international team of 16 journalists that will cover the UN climate change Summit to be held in Marrakech, Morocco, on 7-18 November 2016.
Climate Radio is an initiative supported by the EU-funded NET-MED Youth project with the aim of ensuring the media coverage of the UN climatic change summit. The project will develop the following tools:
1. An FM radio station with temporary broadcasting license over the city of Marrakech.
2. A press agency producing information for worldwide community radio stations that want to follow the COP22 news coverage.
3. A multilingual newsroom run by young journalists producing radio contents.
4. A website related to the event that will broadcast a live streaming of the FM temporary radio station and feature different editorial contents.
Applications must be submitted by radio stations on Monday 3 October 2016 at the latest.
NET-MED Youth aims to improve the access and effective participation of young people in mainstreaming their priorities into legislation and national planning in the Southern Mediterranean Partner countries. Specifically, it aims to build the capacities of youth organisations in ENP South countries and to enhance networking among them in order to reduce the fragmentation of efforts and harness the collective potential of young people in achieving democratic transition towards active citizenship, political participation and social inclusion.
