The Civil Society Facility for the Mediterranean (CSFM) is an initiative funded by the European Commission (DG NEAR B.2), aiming at fostering and promoting a functioning pluralistic and participatory democracy in the Southern Neighbourhood countries, through increasing participation of CSOs in the policy-making processand policy dialogue, through the promotion of public accountability and the advocacy role of civil society and through enabling CSOs in the Southern Neighbourhood to participate in a more structured dialogue with the European Union.
This is being done through a mix of capacity building, training, policy dialogue actions between CSOs and the EU, financial support to third parties (FSTP), and regional technical assistance for civil society.
