When leaders gathered for the United Nations Climate Change Conference COP28, being encouraged by UNEP to sign a pact, the “ Global cooling pledge” to broaden access to a range of sustainable cooling services and technologies, a push that comes with 2023 poised to become the hottest year on record, we invite Mediterranean territories and energy agencies to take action on this topic. On this occasion, a webinar taking place on Thursday 18 January from 10:00 to 11:30 CET time will present and discuss different solutions for improving comfort, reducing the impact of the Urban Heat Island effect, rationalise energy consumption and environmental impacts in MED cities related to urban form, building technologies and systems, as well as policies and residents’ behaviors. Through a multidisciplinary approach and crossed regards between energy experts and urban planning experts, it aims at giving keys to local authorities in implementing adequate solutions in their context, adapting their cities and buildings to climate change.

The webinar will be in French with simultaneous translation in English and Arabic.
