3rd Ministerial Conference on Sustainable Urban Development of the UfM

The 3rd Ministerial Conference on Sustainable Urban Development of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), will be held in Zagreb, Croatia on 4 May 2023.

The Ministerial Conference will comprise of two parts. The official Ministerial meeting will take place in the morning, followed by a High-Level Policy Discussion in the afternoon.

The official Ministerial meeting will aim to acknowledge the progress achieved in fulfilling the objectives of the Euro-Mediterranean cooperation in the sector, as defined at the previous two UfM Ministerial Conferences on Sustainable Urban Development held in 2011 and in 2017, which together provide the outline of the UfM Urban Agenda.

It will also represent an important opportunity for members of the Union for the Mediterranean, together with their key partners, to give impetus to the implementation of the UfM Urban Agenda through regional dialogue and cooperation, guided by the UfM Strategic Urban Development Action Plan 2040.

Meanwhile the High-Level Policy Discussion in the afternoon, will take up the most urgent urban and housing challenges and responses of relevance in the region as part of the implementation of SDG 11 (Sustainable cities and communities).
