Following the training held in Batna on 20 and 21 December 2017 and which started the preparation of Baseline Emission Inventories (BEIs) and Sustainable Energy Action Plans (SECAPs) in 20 communes of the Daira of Batna and Ghardaia.

A restitution seminar was organized on the 7th and 8th of February with the first 8 communes which have finalized their BEIs in order to share the results and to jointly start the preparation of the SECAPs summaries.

We recall here that the launch of the new SECAPs of the Daira of Batna aims to test a clustered approach and involves taking into account structural projects common to several communes.

This workshop was conducted in collaboration with the Agency for Promotion and Rational Use of Energy (APRUE) and the commune of Batna, which hosted the participants on both days.

The seminar was moderated by Ménouèr Boughedaoui, CES-MED national consultant in Algeria and Pierre Couté, CES-MED Senior expert for Maghreb.

This seminar will be followed on February 12th and 15th by two meetings in the communes of Sidi-Bel-Abbès and Boumerdès within the financial study framework of the priority actions envisaged in the SEAPs of these two communes.
