Ambassador Christian Berger and EU Member States Heads of Mission visited the New Assiut Barrage and Hydropower Plant project in Egypt.
The project is funded with contribution from Germany and built in cooperation of Egyptian and European companies to improve the irrigation in the Assiut Governorate and generate electricity.
Berger said this project improves the irrigation for 1.65 million feddans and generates annual energy of 230 GW/H.
