EUBAM Libya’s new Head of Mission assumes office

European Union Border Assistance Mission in Libya (EUBAM Libya) welcomed Mr. Jan Vyčítal as its new Head of Mission. Mr. Vyčítal, a seasoned Czech diplomat with over 20 years of experience, will lead the mission in supporting Libyan authorities in the fields of border management, combating cross-border crime, and countering terrorism.

 

Mr. Vyčítal has a wealth of expertise, were previously served as Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Tunisia, with accreditation for Libya, and as Czech Ambassador to Iraq and Libya. His deep understanding of the region and extensive experience in diplomacy will be invaluable.

 

“I am honored to take on this important role,” said Mr. Vyčítal. “I look forward to working closely with the Libyan authorities, counterparts, and my colleagues at EUBAM Libya, Together, we will dedicate ourselves to more effective border control and security and paving the way for a better future for Libya.”
