The RESTART MED! project will celebrate World Tourism Day on 27 September 2022 with the “Better policies to increase sustainability in Mediterranean tourism” to take place in Palermo, Italy, as well as online.

As per the United Nations, this year’s “World Tourism Day will be celebrated as the shift towards tourism is being recognized as a crucial pillar for development and as progress is well underway”. Where is tourism going? What can we do to help it grow in the most sensible way?

The RESTART MED! summit will answer these questions throughout the day with the participation of representatives of Ministries, local authorities, civil society organisations, entrepreneurs, youth, and universities from a number of Mediterranean countries.

“Better policies to increase sustainability in Mediterranean tourism” will lead attendees to discuss and propose policies for a sound development of sustainable tourism in the Mediterranean area, considered as an integral tourism destination with common challenges.
