The European Investment Bank (EIB) has signed a new funding agreement with ENDA Tamweel, worth the equivalent of €12 million in Tunisian dinars, to strengthen its support for micro-entrepreneurs. This new operation by EIB Global, the EIB branch devoted to international partnerships and development funding, takes place within the context of the Southern Neighbourhood Microfinance Facility, delivered in cooperation with the European Union.

Over its five-year term, this funding will offer high added value, providing long-term resources and attractive financial terms. A European Union grant will protect ENDA from the risk of changes to the Euro-dinar exchange rate.  This funding brings the total value of operations signed by the EIB and ENDA to €36 million.

Operations signed with ENDA Tameel have already provided funding to 36,000 projects led by women and young people.
