The European Training Foundation (ETF) initiated the ‘Big Data for Labour Market Intelligence’ project in 2019, dedicated to crafting an innovative data system for skills demand analysis using online job vacancies. In the initial phase (2019-2021), significant milestones were achieved, including the establishment of databases and online visualization platforms in Ukraine, Tunisia, and Georgia. The project’s ongoing second phase (2022) expands its reach to include Egypt and Kenya, focusing on data quality enhancement and exploring novel themes such as digital skills, green jobs, remote working, and AI. The 2023 addition of Morocco marks another strategic milestone in the project’s evolution, continuing commitment to pioneering approaches in labor market intelligence.

ETF works with a specialised consortium: Lightcast  and CRISP – University Milano Bicocca.
Every year the project carries out regular capacity development programmes, and all resources and learning materials are accessible online for any interested institution. In the dedicated YouTube channel you find over 20 videos covering different aspects of the concepts, methodology, analysis and use cases.
