EU funds new project to support freedoms of expression, association and assembly in Morocco

The project « Houqouq wa Mousawat » will be launched on 8 April. The launching event includes a presentation of the project, the partners as well as the expectations.

The project is funded by the EU, and implemented by the association Adala “for the right to a fair trial”, the NGO Equal Rights and Independant Media (Erim) and the Moroccan Forum of Young Journalists (FMJJ).

«Hoqouq wa Mousawat» aims to promote the effective implementation of a legal framework conducive to the freedoms of expression, association and assembly in Morocco.

It will last two years and will offer:

  • Support to civil society organizations (CSOs) through the consolidation of a fundamental freedoms observatory.
  • Capacity building for more than 100 CSOs on monitoring, advocacy and international standards for freedom of expression, association and access to information.
